The front and back cover both use the same shot which was taken during the filming process of the scene shot by the sea. This shot was cropped so that the artist wasnt in the shot as this is a convention of our genre where typically the artist isnt seen on their media products. After the image was croppped, an artisitc effect was applied to the image to give it a more washed out/edgy effect which is another conevntion of Indie-Pop. The main reasoning for choosing photos that were taken by the sea to feature on our digipak was that the images already had a dark tone to them which made them look even better after they were edited as it meant that they fit our genre better than any other photos that we took would.
Above is the original image and here is the image that we cropped before applying an artistic effect to the picture.
This image was used on the inside where the disk would be found. We chose the make the image fit acroos all three inside panels without distorting the image so that when the digipak is opened it the image can be seen and it keeps it simple in terms of the design inside the digpak. Ince again we applied an artisitc effect to the image so that it would suit our genre better than if it was left original. This blurred effect also makes the image look more subtle and not in the users face which is another reason why this filter was chosen.
This is the final image that was used on our digipak which can be found in the inside cover which uses the same effect as the image used on our digipak. It is important for all of our media products to link togetehr and this helps to show this as this image featured on our magazine advert as well as it being a shot used in our actual music video. This is the only image on the digipak used where you can see the artisit's identity as this is a convention of our genre as I have said before.
These shots were from location 2 which can be seen on our shotlist exactly when and what we used in order to film and take these photos.
