The chosen person we have cast is shown on the left. We cast this character because we felt he suited the role and profile of a character from our genre. This actor is relateable for our target audience as he is a similar age and has the personality of someone from the indie genre. Therefore this is more attractive for our target audience. One of the conventions of the genre was that it was quite different and 'edgy'. Billy is also a media student and therefore had a good understanding of our needs he had to meet, this made it easier to work with someone as he knew what he was doing. He has a good understanding of shot compositions and where he needs to be within the framing of each shot.
The second character we have cast is a young male boy, in the video representing the main character's brother. We have used someone who is 12 years old because we felt it was an accurate age to be the artist brother and therefore someone who is in the crash. We felt it was more important to find a suitable main character than secondary actor because the second character only features for the first 20 seconds of the film and we never see much of him.
