Favourite Music Video And Why

Where are u now, Justin Bieber
This is my favourite music video because it is very creative and it is different to most other videos out there. Appeals to a wide target audeince and there is no specific demographics as a lot of people have made contributions to the video. Sam du Berry

Moses, French Montana
This is one of my favourite music videos as there are various uses of different editing techniques and some of the camera shots are very good. They have edited the video in a way that some of it is fast foward and other bits are slowed down, this creates a good effect. Some good camera shots used are some high level ones looking down on the artist from the sky, these are quite creative. Rhys Williams

Time of your life, kid ink
This is another one of our favoutites as there is only one camera angle used throughout the whole video which is a Point of view shot. It is also a low budget production and it is relateable for the target audience.

What do you mean ?, Justin Bieber
Thid video clearly follows TODOROV's theory as the equilibrium at the start is disturbed but then restored by the end of the video. The narrative is also fairly clear and follows some of the 8 principles of Goodwins theory which according to this means that it is a successful video.

The purpose of analysing these music videos is that thye are from a variety of different genres meaning that we are able to undertsand codes and conventions of various different genres in order to widen our udersatnding of genre. Even though these videos do not fit into our genre this task still boradens our overall knowlege of shot types, editing etc. used within music videos on a wjole.
